Kalku Trial Terms — v1.4 (Beta)
Draft. Requires lawyer review before public launch. Last updated: May 2026.
What the Trial Is
Every new Kalku registration receives a 14-day free trial. No credit card is required at sign-up. The trial has its own daily caps, set independently of any paid tier and adjustable from operations. Current caps are published on the Capacity & Limits page.
What You Get During the Trial
- •Daily LLM parsing limit: the published trial cap, refreshed each day at your local midnight
- •Voice notes and receipt photos: subject to the published trial caps for each
- •Languages: English, Pidgin, Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo — full support
- •Transaction logging: yes — text, voice notes, receipt photos
- •Queries and summaries: yes
- •Loans, gifts, IOUs: yes
- •Bank statement imports: no (paid feature only)
- •PDF reports: no (paid feature only)
- •Rollover boost: no (trial is cap-based, not credit-based)
- •Top-ups: no (no wallet during trial)
- •Multi-account: no (personal account only; business accounts require a business subscription)
What the Trial Is Not
The trial is cap-based, not credit-based. There is no annual wallet, no unit balance, no rollover. You simply get up to the configured daily cap for 14 days, then the trial ends.
Trial End
After 14 days, your account automatically reverts to the Free tier (currently 5 entries per day with a monthly drip of 150 units; published values may change with 30 days' notice). All data you logged during the trial is preserved — nothing is deleted or hidden.
No second trial. Each account receives one trial, ever.
Converting to a Paid Plan
You may upgrade to any paid plan at any time during or after the trial. Upgrading during the trial:
- •Immediately activates your paid plan's full annual wallet
- •Sets your cycle start to today, cycle end to today + 365 days
- •Changes your trial state to "converted to paid"
Trial Reminders
- •Approximately 48 hours before trial end: a warm in-chat note that the free run wraps up soon
- •Day 14: trial ends silently. No dramatic farewell. Your data is intact.
Beyond these, Kalku does not chase or pressure you to upgrade. If you convert, it's because the product earned it.
